Dr. Peng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston. She also serves as the Director of the Drug Discovery Institute and the Interim Director of the Center for Nuclear Receptors & Cell Signaling. Dr. Peng earned her MD from Tongji Medical University in China, followed by a PhD in Immunology from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Peng’s research focuses on understanding the immune system’s role in the development of chronic diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. Her work aims to translate these insights into innovative therapeutic approaches to improve patient outcomes.
