“The UH-HEART Program has taught me to appreciate the unpredictable nature of both research and career paths. Whether it is research or my career, I must remain open to exploring any opportunity. The research techniques, presenting and public speaking skills that I have learned will allow me to be successful in my future endeavors.”

“A big draw of the UH-HEART program are its various workshops and the one-on-one meetings with the program directors... I learned about a lot of paths that I did not even realize were open to me like getting a PhD in Pharmacology instead of Biochemistry or even going the dual MD/PhD route.”
